Dutch-Headshop: from Attic Room to Full-Service Webshop

What started as a nice idea to help smokers roll their joints, ended in an absolute asset to the soft and smart drugs world. Two brothers started making a so-called Rollmate in their attic room 19 years ago. They now run one of the largest online headshops in Europe. What is now a successful enterprise was still in its infancy at the beginning of this century. History of the Dutch-Headshop

In the hot summer of 2001, two brothers and a friend came up with a brilliant idea. The rollmate: a key ring in the shape of a joint that anyone can use to roll a joint without difficulty. With the blueprint for this idea, the boys go to a metal worker friend and have a prototype made. A patent is applied for and hopefully they start selling the joint roller, from the garage and attic room to mainly tourist shops and coffee shops in Amsterdam. To their surprise, the rollmate is a great success. Over time, the boys realized that their hobby was getting out of hand. They decided to expand the range and also to sell to customers outside the Netherlands. The Internet makes its appearance and years later, in 2006, they also set up a webshop: Dutch-Headshop was born.

As the years flew by and the webshop developed further and further, it became clear that the name Dutch-Headshop no longer fully covered the meaning. Customers all over Europe asked for more than just things to roll joints with. The range got bigger and bigger. In addition to the Headshop, they also set up a Cannabis Seeds, Smartshop, CBDShop and Healthshop. That turned out to be a smart move: Dutch-Headshop quickly grew into one of the largest suppliers in the field of smart and soft drugs articles.
